Pastor Appreciation Day

Yesterday, we celebrated Homecoming at BBC, and to my surprise, my family and I were also honored for Pastor Appreciation.  I am SO thankful for a loving church family that does their very best to take care of us.  We are truly privileged to serve with some awesome people here at Bethel.  The words that were written in some of those cards were a great encouragement to both Leann and myself.  Unless you are a pastor or have served as a pastor, you will never know some of the burdens that we and our families carry, and to have the people we serve encourage us (not just for Pastor Appreciation but at other times too) goes a long way to help sustain our emotional and spiritual energy in ministry.  Thank you Bethel for loving us well.

And then, there are those of you reading this that are not members of BBC, but you are members somewhere, and I want to encourage you to honor your pastor this month.  Chuck Lawless has some great ideas in his blog that I would encourage you to read.  The ways in which you can honor your pastor really are limitless.  If he serves you with his whole heart, take a moment and do something to encourage him and his family this month or as often as the Lord leads you to do it.  I assure you, your service will be appreciated.
